Storm Damage Report
Know the damage before the adjuster does.
After a storm, TruPoint documents the damage on the board's side: what the storm did, separated from wear and deferred maintenance, with the photo record and the storm data, in a report the board's adjuster and attorney can work from. The report is the board's own record before anyone with a ladder or a claim form arrives.
What the board gets
- The damage documented, building by building, and separated from wear and deferred maintenance.
- The photo record, dated and location referenced.
- The storm data for the date in question.
- A report written for the board's adjuster and attorney.
Who it is for
- Boards facing a claim, or deciding whether to file one.
- Boards with a master policy deductible to think about.
- Boards holding a contractor's estimate they cannot check.
What to do first
- Protect people and property: tarps, boarding, water shut off. What counts as an emergency repair under SF 1750.
- Photograph everything before the tarps go on, and keep the emergency invoices in their own pile.
- Sign nothing a door-knocking contractor puts in front of you. Why the free inspection isn't free.
