About TruPoint

Matt Hardinger and his team, on the board's side of the table.

TruPoint works for HOA and condo boards across the Twin Cities metro, from the reserve study through the last pay application. This practice was built from several sides of the table: a career in building products that ran from manufacturing and distribution to hands-on installation, years running education sessions for property management companies on maintenance, insurance, construction projects, and RFP building, and board service in the community association industry.

Many decades of experience, locally and nationally

I've spent decades in building products, from the manufacturing plant to the jobsite. I've swung a hammer and installed a lot of those products myself. I've walked the plants, from the mines and forests where raw materials start through milling and finishing.

I ran operations at a multibillion dollar building materials distributor in multiple climates, on budgets large and small, from new markets to turnarounds. I've always been early to the newest tools that serve the client better. Every job I've run started from one rule: the customer is always right, and it's my job to help them find the truth. That's TruPoint.

Our industry partners

Contractor experience

Our industry partners bring many decades as contractors. They know the ins and outs of every situation on a building, from water intrusion and rot to the problem areas that are hard to find. Their focus on every job is the right fix for the owner.

National network

Our partners also bring a national network. They stay current on construction insurance changes from both the carrier and restoration side. Their contacts reach manufacturers and distributors in markets across the country. Those connections bring the latest tools to the table for your property.

Who we work for

Community Associations Institute, Minnesota Chapter

TruPoint is a member of the Community Associations Institute, and Matt Hardinger serves on its board. Every reserve study is prepared to CAI's National Reserve Study Standards.

Our promise, in writing

We work with everyone at the table: boards, managers, contractors, engineers, attorneys. That is how projects get built. Our promise is to your board: at every step, we point you to the course of action that serves your community, and we put it in writing.

  • The fee is set in the engagement letter and stays the same whichever contractor your board selects.
  • Every relationship that could bear on our advice is disclosed to your board first, before a shortlist exists.
  • Your board controls the bidder list. Bids arrive sealed and open together, on the record, and where one of our people has a relationship with a bidder, your board directs that person's role in scoring.
  • Storm work stays on your side of the table: the damage documented, the report written for your adjuster and your attorney, and the right specialist brought in where the claim calls for one.
  • The full Conflict of Interest Disclosure and Bid Integrity Policy comes with every engagement. Read the Transparency Pledge.

What we ask of everyone at the table

  • Everyone at the table demonstrates high caliber and high character: boards, managers, contractors, all of it.
  • What we see on the roof is what the board reads in the report.

Your property is where you come home every night.

We help owners build a property worth being proud of.

A place of comfort and confidence for the owners. A property neighbors decide on together and buyers want to join.

Judge for yourself
